Và cả đám người ai nấy đều mồ hôi nhễ nhại quăng lấy quăng để lên. Vừa quăng vừa thở gấp, xong xuôi thì co chân chạy nhanh ra. Ông nhắm mắt lại cái rồi quăng mạnh cái đuốt lửa vào. Bùng cháy lên một cái dữ dội. Ông như nín thở nhìn vào đống củi đang từ từ bốc cháy kia, chợt ông nhắm mắt lại nói:
"Đi tìm mời một vị nhà sư đắc đạo về đây, ta sẽ ở lại đây canh chừng nó, nó đã là yêu tinh rồi thì không đơn giản thuần phục nó như thế này"
Nói xong gia nô ông ấy chạy đi nhanh, ông đứng đó nghiêm nghị nhìn. Lửa táp vào nhau kêu lách tách. Chợt ông quay qua nhìn vào bầu trời. Thầm nghĩ đến Hoài Thục, không biết bây giờ cô ấy đã đi đến đâu rồi.
"Đến đâu rồi?"
Hoài Thục vạch tấm rèm ra, hỏi tên đánh xe.
